Townscape week 3

Tuesday:
In the morning we began working on a Townscape painting from a photograph using acrylic paints (red, blue, yellow, brown and white) on white cartridge paper.
In the afternoon I did some research into Achitectual Structures to help me come up with designs for a 3D sculpture using paper and card.

Wednesday:
In the morning for textiles I got some reference photos of church spires, bridges and urban walls to incorporate into my body supported structure designs.
In Graphics we used Adobe illustrator to experiment on our townscape photos using the pen tool and how to draw polygonal lines and curved lines. http://luketomlinsongraphicstownscape.blogspot.co.uk/
In art history we were sent to research the topics we are studying (e.g Townscape artists who work in fine art, 3D...)

Friday:
In printmaking we learnt how to do monoprinting using black ink, paper and blunt objects. I created several townscape drawings using this method and in the afternoon for photography we got our film ready for developing.

Townscape week 2

Tuesday:
In the morning we worked on drawing from a window again but this time using ink to draw with.

In the afternoon we drew more 3D perspective drawings of various shapes and I then had a go on the Google Sketch Up computer program.

Wednesday:
In textiles I planned out my design of what to do for my supportive structure and the townscape link which is to create a piece which sits on the head, shoulders and front torso made up up a church spire, a bridge and urban scenery.

In Graphics I wrote up my evaluation of the portraits piece to put on my graphics blog which can be found here. http://luketomlinsonl3adgraphicsportraits.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/evaluation.html

Friday:
For the morning we produced a basic tonal life drawing using conte crayon in an effort to get back into drawing the life model.

In the afternoon for photography we took a series of narrative photographs on film which will then be developed next lesson.

Townscape Week 1

Tuesday:
In the morning with Mark we were told to produce a townscape drawing from one of the windows around college using either Biro or pencil

in the afternoon with Joe we looked at perspective drawings and how to draw isometric 3D shapes using construction methods.

Wednesday:
For textiles our project we are working on is to create a townscape based supportive structure so we spent the day researdching supportive structures and ways to incorporate townscape into them.

In Graphics we began work on adobe illustrator learning how to create a vectorgraph image and get used to the program.
In Art History we looked up townscape images to see other artist's work and to replicate a photograph.

Friday:
We researched the work of John Virtue, a townscape artist who creates prints.
In the afternoon with Carlton we began our narrative project and got used to developing photographs in the dark room.

For homework I drew the view from my window and produced a still life drawing of objects using the construction methods
