FMP week 1

In this week all my work mainly consisted of idea building towards my final major project.
My previous three books have been completed and I began creating the basis for my ideas.
For the theme I'm basing the project on myself as an auobiography, linking into my interests.

Also in Life drawing I produced an A2 painting.

Townscape week 8 finishing up

Tuesday:
Whilst others were finishing up their collage paintings, I had finished mine and was finishing up work in my book.
In 3D, I finished painting my sculpture, and I decided to glue some black wire mesh onto the sides to represent windows. I was originaly just going to hold it over and paint squares on from the grid, but I thought glueing the wire on would work and look better.

Wednesday:
In textiles, I finished my body supported structure by adding graphiti onto the torso piece and I stuck some more details on like a wire mesh for a window and various pieces of cloth.

In Graphics, we looked at applying effects and distortions to our adobe piece, my work can be found here http://luketomlinsongraphicstownscape.blogspot.co.uk/
In art history we finished our work on Tracy Emin and got given a new project of analysing how her work is projected through media such as tabloid newspapers, tv and art critics.

Friday:
Friday was primarily a catch up day and I just spent it putting my work in my sketch book.

Wednesday:
I continued working on my body supported structure by covering it in materials so that next week it just needs touching up and is finished

In graphics I experimented with the brush tools into my illustrator townscape piece, which can be found on my graphics blog here http://luketomlinsongraphicstownscape.blogspot.co.uk/

and in Art history we looked at the work of Tracy Emin and what her work represents in her life.

I?n the afternoon, my 3D piece was dry from the modroc and I used it again to mould the 2 pieces together and after that I painted the piece.

Wednesday:
In textiles, I created the spire for my body supported structure and I begun sticking pieces of fabric onto the piece to give it colour and texture.

In the afternoon for art history we learnt about the Dada art movement

Townscape week 5

Tuesday:
In Visual Studies I finished my painting of the knocked down building and started working on my collage piece by getting the base stuck down.
In 3D I added modroc to my 3D piece (I forgot to photograph it before the modroc unfortunatly :/ )
I'll get photos of that next week since it was still drying when I left it. Hopefully I'll be painting it next week.

Wednesday:
In textiles I created the parts of my body supported structure that will sit on my shoulders and my head, again I'll get pictures of it for next week and I still need to make the spire, tracks and paint the piece.

In Graphics whilst everyone else got their previous blogs finished, I continued working on Illustrator and used the blob tool to paint into some areas. My Townscape graphics blog is here http://luketomlinsongraphicstownscape.blogspot.co.uk/

In Art History we worked on our own Russian Constructivism piece which I'll upload photos of when I have it finished.

Friday:
In Printmaking I collected my previous prints and created a few more before going off to research some more mono print artists.

In Photography I created 2 more sample photographs but I also printed another set of narrative photographs so that I have some for mounting and some for my book.
(they are in my figure book which was collected so I'll upload them when I can)

Townscape week 3

Tuesday:
In the morning we began working on a Townscape painting from a photograph using acrylic paints (red, blue, yellow, brown and white) on white cartridge paper.
In the afternoon I did some research into Achitectual Structures to help me come up with designs for a 3D sculpture using paper and card.

Wednesday:
In the morning for textiles I got some reference photos of church spires, bridges and urban walls to incorporate into my body supported structure designs.
In Graphics we used Adobe illustrator to experiment on our townscape photos using the pen tool and how to draw polygonal lines and curved lines. http://luketomlinsongraphicstownscape.blogspot.co.uk/
In art history we were sent to research the topics we are studying (e.g Townscape artists who work in fine art, 3D...)

Friday:
In printmaking we learnt how to do monoprinting using black ink, paper and blunt objects. I created several townscape drawings using this method and in the afternoon for photography we got our film ready for developing.
